Description

A beautiful London Model 1849 Pocket Colt .31 Caliber, serial number 5009. The serial number suggests its from the mid-1850s.

Background:
Following widespread praise for Colt after the Great Exhibition, Samuel Colt established a London factory in 1853 to cater to British and Continental markets - and to contend with several British European infringers. The facility only operated until 1857, producing a total of 11,000 Model 1849 Pocket Colts.
