Description

An English Flintlock bollock pistol by Bond of London, 84 bore, bears Birmingham proof marks, silver escutcheon monogrammed with RG. The overall length is 18.5cm.

It could be either Philip or Edward Bond.

Philip Bond ran a shop at 45 Cornhill, London, where he made brass barrel flintlock pocket pistols with underspring bayonets and flintlock blunderbusses with spring bayonets.

Edward Bond, also based at 45 Cornhill, London, was active from 1800-1830. He specialized in making flintlock holster pistols with swivel ramrods and double barrel flintlock carbines with top-spring bayonets.
