Seller Name: Abbott Antiques & CollectablesThis is a RARE item, wooden case containing a scroll, a document giving The Freedom of The City of London to the named bearer, Isaac George Bryant, a member of the Worshipful Company of Loriners. The Loriners were members of one of the oldest of two worshipful companies, established in the 12th century. The wooden holder also hides a receipt for 19th January 1854, detailing a 'Livery fine' of £12 14s 6d - which would have been over £1,000 today and the equivalent of over 60 days of paid work for a skilled man. This is an incredible find and would be a fine addition to a collection of curiosities.
