A lovely old 250 year old Blancmange Mould, dating from the English Georgian Period, 1770. The Blancmange, when set, would be turned out to reveal the moulded pineapple on the top - a prized item in the Georgian Period, because it was a symbol of ‘wealth’. The Mould is small, just almost 7 inches (167mm) long - desserts were expensive and served in small quantities. A splendid example of tin-glazed earthenware from the eighteenth century, some damage but consistent with the age and use.
